New Hampshire Falls Facts
- Falls are the leading cause of accidental death in older adults (ages 65+) with 249 deaths occurring in 2020. i
- 12,962 older adults went to the emergency department and 4,320 older adults were admitted to the New Hampshire hospitals in 2019 for fall related injuries. ii
- Costs for these hospital and emergency department visits exceeded $294 million. iii
